Reality is, if your cute…….find a corner…
First, as harsh as this may sound especially during the holidays… stop spending monies you do not have. This means do not use credit cards to buy things you cannot pay for in cash today. Build up this good habit otherwise in the future you will encounter the exact same situation even if you have a full-time decent paying job. Second, in the terms of quick money, if you are of legal age and truly understand the consequences of the following suggestion, I seriously hesitate to suggest this, but you may consider donating your “eggs”. This pays a decent amount, but there are some serious consequences you may or may not be prepared for as a young adult. Third, consider getting a retail job to help ease the burden during the holidays. Places like Trader’s Joe, CostCo and Macy’s in particular pay respectible wages, offer solid benefits and a good working atmosphere. Fourth, research Craigslist.com for temporary job postings, often these jobs are sameday and pay at the end of the evening.
Lastly, the type of job you undertake often largely depends on what exactly do you will need this quick money for. If it is just to spend on gifts, shopping, partying and the like your best option is temporary odd jobs listed online. Good luck!
Here is a good book to check out. It is call “The Consumer Reports Money Book” (How to get it, save it, and spend it wisely) (What you need to know about banking, money management, insurance, taxes, retirement planning, investing, and more). 3rd edition, 2000 copyright. You local library may have a copy. This book has a lot of great ideas to consider. Then consider an subscription on “Money” magazine and a good source of up-to-date stuff. The only people making money on get rich quick schemes are the people selling them. Stay away from late night infomercials as well. Check out Prosper.com if you want to lend money to other people. They have plenty of free information for potential lenders. You only have to have at least $50 to bid on a loan. Prosper is legit and has been featured in Money and Newsweek.
