@irisheyes68 Arnel fails at singing every old Journey song that we love because of the way Steve sang them.Arnel should stick with singing New Journey (what I call the band now) songs and leave the old Journey songs alone.Hey I forgot if he did that any live concert they did now would be over on a matter of minutes lol.I wonder what will happen to New Journey when Arnel’s contract expirers next year? Neal should try Sesame Street for the next replacement for Steve as he seems to like puppets.

@irisheyes68 you forgot about all the other old Journey songs also lol. No one will ever be able to sing them the way Steve could. No matter how much Neal Schon tries to replace Steve with a Steve Perry clone and they TRY to mimic his voice,Steve will forever remain The Voice!!!

If the new Journey are the “Real Deal”, why then, when i turn on the tv or radio ,is it still always Perry i hear singing with Journey, and none of the other singers the band have had.? I have nothing against Arnel, he seems a lovely guy, and is a great singer, however Steve Perry is a singer in a league of his own, he is an impossible act for any singer to follow. I guess im gonna stick to listening to the old Perry stuff, as for me Steve Perry was ,is, and always be the “voice” of Journey
Sorry Arnel but your will never compare to Steve Perry. I was given “Live in Manilla” as a gift and I only listened to it once. Listening to Arnel trying to sing “Steve’s” songs was awful. Let Arnel sing his own songs but stop trying to sound like Steve Perry because you will NEVER compare. They are selfish money grabbers and from the way they treated Steve would dump Arnel if he started having voice problems. It makes me so angry when anyone says Arnel is as good – rubbish.
Steve Perry’s voice is way more powerful plus he sings in English as apposed to broken English,what people need to remember here is if Steve Perry had’nt co-wrote & sung these songs in the first place not only would there never have been a group called Journey as they were about to be dropped by the record company,but Arnel would still be picking rice out in the paddy fields! PERRY ON INTO INFINITY.
Arnel is a Steve Perry clone. He can imitate Steve Perry down to the last warbling falseto. Enough said!!!! Yep for me what’s being heard by my left ear is so much better than whats being heard by my right for Who’s Crying Now.That is my own opinion so please don’t now freak at me for makimg it.

sure do people… w/o question we enjoyed renditions fr Steve Perry. He left the group for whatever reason it was (injury?) of course life has to move on like anything else. Sure the group has to find a lead singer- is it unusual? ‘dont think so. As told they squabble to find talent from you tube. – they found one – a talent on its own. THE ONLY PERMANENT THING IN THIS WORLD IS- CHANGE. Why criticize? Anything happens…there’s always NEXT..life goes on. For now enjoy & appreciate the music pls.

I “met” journey because of Arnel Pineda. I am awed by his brilliant performance. I’m also a huge David Cook fan, so I was stunned when I saw them together at the last part of this video. When was this taken?

To our real Journey fans: Daughter will be accompanying Ross’s wife to NYC to meet up with the Jboys for the taping of the Opera show on Monday. Show should air in about 3 weeks. Damn, let’s see, Ellen, CBS, and now OPERA!. What say you now Arnel haters? Arnel with Journey = SUCCESS that cannot be denied.

I am also a huge Steve Perry . Arnel dreamed his whole life of being in Journey and it came true for him. Who else would you want to sing for Journey? Arnel is pretty close to Perry as a singer in my opinion. He puts a rougher edged modern rock sound to the music. I know that is what Neil was looking for. And he now sings for Journey! Your favorite band! So what is your problem? Waiting….. Oh yeah, I prefer Bloody Rags, thanx!

i dunno anything bout sp …i only came to appreciate journey and its music when Arnel became the front man!!! ….i guess sp was journey’s past glory days…..Ap is a fresh addition that has revitalized the band and its TRUE fans!!!…TODAY, younger and wider fan base globally loves Journey w/ Arnel…the real deal!!!
